Christmas Swag

Hey guys, hope you had a good Christmas, this year I got this lovely card.
Actually, I this kinda makes me sad for them =/

Also after wanting to for a long time I had a try at making a papercraft ceiling cat, turned out well but unfortunately I dont know a printer so I had to sort of trace my computer screen.
I was a bit unhappy that I used pen for the lines though so I couldn't erase it, anyway you can make your own ceiling cat with this pattern for it.

Have a good new years everyone!

Merry Christmas! I got...friendzoned by a bank scam email?!

Sofia I trusted you! Women honestly they expect you to save them from their uncles assassinating them, handle their 5.6million dollars and they expect you to just be friends and have a platonic relationship after going through so much together?!

Since I have nothing else to do, I did a dramatic reading of it on my Youtube Channel
hope you guys find it amusing.
Please subscribe to me too =)

Sup bro, just brushing your teeth.

I was just getting ready for bed when this happened, since I'm from Aus spiders dont really worry me though but its always annoying for this to happen.
This is a New Zealand White-tailed spider they aren't really harmful to adults even though they are technically the most vemonous spider in NZ. They are kinda dangerous to young / old or people with allergies but mostly just give people frights.

"White-tailed spiders wander about human dwellings (beds) and may be encountered unexpectedly" is a bit of an understatement by Wikipedia. They are hunting spiders so don't wait in webs, and have a bad habit of dropping from the ceiling. In fact about 2 months ago my friend was eating a burger on the couch, when I saw one of these directly above him ( he is terrified of spiders ) he moved to the other side of the couch, 2 minutes later we looked up and it was gone. It had dropped to were he he was sitting a moment ago, and wandering around on the cushion. Anyway, back to going to bed, sweet dreams all.

New Zealand Scenery

Went to the Southern Coast for a BBQ on the weekend, they have some hills near their house that is part of a sheep farm and took some pics for you guys. You can see the suburb we were in and some of my friends still climbing the hill in the first.
View from the top.
Down to the rocky shore.
This tree endures so much wind it has lopped over to cover the trail.
Looking to the south.
And of course some sheep from NZ.

Hope you guys like some pictures from this side of the world, almost Christmas so hope you have a good one guys!

Seal pup wanders into home

Iv mentioned Seals before in my NZ wildlife post however this popped up in the news yesterday, apparently this cute baby seal walked through the cat door and went to couch were it curled up and went to sleep.
The owner apparently called the SPCA and explained what was happening, however at the beginning they laughed at her and she had to exclaim she was not drunk and several times repeated that she was sure it wasn't just a stray dog, understandable considering the unusual situation.
After they caught it however the antics continued saying "At Ms Swoffer's home, the seal was put in a net and box but as it was being driven away in the Doc vehicle, it escaped and made its way up to the front of the vehicle, accidentally turning on the radio and ending up on the front seat"
Sounds like something from a Disney movie to be honest, good thing she had her camera because no one would believe it otherwise, first time I have heard of a seal entering someones home however I have heard of Penguins entering through cat flaps in Eastborne which is near a penguin sanctuary.
This is the seal I talked about in my other posts, they seem quite common and friendly in NZ, however should always be careful around wild animals, take care guys.

Diablo 3 almost upon us.

If you guys haven't seen it yet be sure to check out the recent introduction cinematic for Diablo 3! There has of course been a lot of controversy over Diablo 3, saying its cateering more to the casual market, and the very controversal real money auction house. I am however a very optimistic person and Im really hoping this will be an amazing game, so if we can just forget about all the other stuff maybe when its finally released (hopefully first quarter next year) it might just all work out and be great =D

On productivity when you have nothing to do.

So have some interviews lined up for next week, but still unemployed, and I began to to notice something. When I work a 9 - 5 Monday to Friday when I get home I get right into stuff, whether its reading, drawing exercising or gaming. However I have been on jobless holiday now for about a month and my days are filled with almost nothing, which seems strange to me because I always think when I'm at a job of all the things I could fill my day with if I was on holiday or retired but I have a lot more fun in my free time when its the weekend from a job or at home after work. I guess its one of those grass is always greener things, or too much of a good thing etc. Oh well hopefully I get the job from the interview and can start buying nice food again.

Also my internet is lagging ~_~

Oh and here is a pig that has two back deformed legs so its forced to walk on its front two. Can read about this on Weird Asian News.

Wing Suit Base Jumping

Been a fan of this for ages, one of those things I desperately want to try but would probably chicken out of. Its basically just want it sounds like, they jump off of things with a wing suit, and use their parachute before dieing. Sounds simple eough but some of them try to get closer and closer to the edge or jump, there is videos of these guys being 3 feet off the ground going down a slope next to skiers. Warning naturally, this is super dangerous and alot of people had died from just being stupid and doing this.

I wanna be the guy! The movie, the Game.

I wanna be the guy is probably the hardest, most frustrating game that has ever been made. The designer actually said to himself when making it "How hard can I make this and will people keep playing it?" IWBTG quickly received a cult following in people that were searching for a game that made them want to smash a lead pipe into their teeth after a few minutes of playing it.

I have been playing IWBTG over the course of a few years, playing for a bit then getting mad and stopping for a month or so. I am finally at the last boss (after 3622 deaths) I tried for a couple of hours to beat him today but gave up when my hand started hurting from pressing fire too much.

IWBTG is free, and is only around 60mb so I would definitely recommend downloading it just to see what all the fuss is about, apart from the mind numbing frustration it is actually quite fun and very funny to play, with references to other games that gives it a sense of nostalgia.
Check out I Wanna Be The Guy here!

Cute Baby Seal

In my post about New Zealand Wildlife I posted some pics of the Seal that lives along the footpath near our city center, was just playing around with my Camera and saw it again and tried out the video tool, so here is an 11 second clip of it just being a seal =)

In other news, still looking for a job before I run out of money haha, take it easy guys.

New Zealand Vs Freedom of Protesting

With all the "Occupy" groups around the world, New Zealand had to join in on the fun. Though the amount of people doing it here are small, however after complaints in Auckland police have now forcibly removed the protesters in our country, including people chained together. You can read more about it here.

The perks of waking up early for delivery guys.

While waiting for my thrice missed package which I can only assume is the passport I have been waiting for I was able to see the sun coming up which as a person that sleeps in rarely gets to see. So here is a picture of the sun on the clouds over the harbor in Wellington New Zealand.

On Owls and Naked Men

A couple posts back I was writing about the native New Zealand Owl and other birds around my house, well I decided to try and find it again to show my friend. So we waited until around midnight when it started calling and went out to look for it with a spot light, we were under the tree and I was searching for it when I heard a voice from below me.

"Heeeeellllloooooooo" it said. I was surprised by this and aimed the torch lower, where before my eyes there was a bathtub, with scented candles around and a naked man having a soak. "Ah Hi..." I replied not sure how my bird hunt had come to this. He spoke in a voice that carried on a bit and said to me "Ahhhh you muuust be the boy that lives at that house over there, I don't think we have had a chance to meet yet". We introduced each other and I explained the situation, he was actually rather nice to talk to to. We decided to give up looking for the Owl since our conversation had scared it off, but as we were leaving he exclaimed "Youuu simply must come out for a soak some time in the night young man". >_>

Justine - Amnesia the Dark Descent Bonus DLC Playthrough

Apparently I do videos too, who would have thought? I'm new to it though, and my mic isnt very good
so my voice is a bit quiet. But check it out if you have the time! Content warning though, if you get into Amnesia or Justine its very immerse and full of horror (actual horror, not 'lets just blow blood and guns everywhere and say boo')

Justine, a totally well adjusted individual.

I also do Starcraft 2 videos (naturally). Please like and subscribe it if you can, means a lot. Feedback would be good too, so I can improve on future videos. Let me know what you guys think =)

The postman always comes through.

Past week I have been waiting for some mystery package to arrive, though it has been delayed several times. I checked the track and trace number today while waiting and to see. "This item has been delivered and signed for my Sarah M"

Oh ok...wait what? No one I know lives here or has that name. So not only did they wrongly delivery my sign for package but someone accepted and signed for it knowing I didnt live with them or know me. To add just a bit of fun to the situation this package could be one of three things: Citizenship papers I have spent a lot of money on (to apply to work overseas I need them), a passport I am waiting for, or a late birthday gift. Arrrg this is going to be annoying to work out, guess Ill have to go around to all the neighbors and see if I can get it back and ring the couriers too.

Give me your ladder points!

I was always a fan of WC3 Dota customs so this might be pretty cool, but it might have come a bit late. With valve producing DOTA2 and other games like League of Legends and HoN out there I wonder if there will be much of a place for this. Also wondering if valve owns the name DOTA now will they be able to sue Blizzard over this? Maybe someone with more legal knowledge can answer me below =) But anyway what do you guys this of this?

Ridiculously Fun Time Waster: Doodle or Die

This is so much fun I actually stayed up all night playing it. Basically you explain a drawing or draw from an explanation, so its like Chinese whispers for drawings. Honestly I almost cried from laughing so hard when I played this. Check it out! Be warned though, because it depends on people for drawing a lot of people draw dicks and stuff etc, such kids haha.
Example of drawings people do.

Shoe-box full of cake.

Short update from my holidays, my Mom came down for a surprise visit and brought me a birthday present of home made cake, inside a shoe box. Also she went to bar across the road, bought a shot of brandy and then poured it over the cake o_0.

Actually a fairly normal thing for her to do, nice cake though hopefully it will last me a bit. Also in Starcraft 2 news, a lot of info about the upcoming expansion Heart of the Swarm which I will do a post about after all the info from Blizzcon comes out. Have a good Weekend everyone.

Some more New Zealand wildlife.

Hey guys, been playing with my new camera a bit and thought I would share some more photos from New Zealand.

This is a native New Zealand Wood Pigeon they are larger than common pigeons and green and stick to the forests or near trees, unlike common pigeons that just make town messy.

Ok just some ducklings nothing special here haha, ducklings are just cute. Its spring here in the southern hemisphere though so we are seeing a lot of them.

Terrible photo unfortunately, since I took this at midnight. But its actually a Southern Boobook (we call them 'Morporks') Its a small owl that's a bit rare, actually first time I have seen one in the wild since they are hard to find at night. They have a distinctive call that sounds exactly like "More Pork, More Pork" hence the name. Really cute bird actually think its the only owl in this part of the world. Will try to get a better picture another day.

This cute little seal has been living on the waterfront lately, he sleeps on the break waters next to the footpath in the middle of town. So close you can actually pat him, though I wouldnt recommend it. I think tourists of the Rugby World Cup are feeding him or something because I have seen him a lot lately, first time I saw him there was a little blue penguin swimming around him, almost like one of the animated buddy movies where two animals become friends ahaha. On a more serious note there has been Orca whales in our bay recently, so I hope he is careful.

Hope you guys enjoyed these snaps from my town here in Wellington New Zealand.

Birthday and Completed University!

Hey guys, haven't been wrote anything in ages. Had exams recently and just finished so hopefully I will have more free time now. Also my Birthday was a couple days ago so got some nice new stuff =)

One of the things I now finally own is a digital camera, took a couple pics today to show you guys.
This is one of the native New Zealand birds called a Kaka, it's a native brownish parrot with red underneath. Native New Zealand parrots are notoriously mischievous and will scratch and try and eat parts of parked cars for fun. They are also very friendly, and because I live next to a wild bird sanctuary they usually fly around my area and I feed and pat them from time to time. Fortunately I was carrying my new camera and snapped a shot since no one here believes me since they are endangered birds.

Sometimes they bite the hand that feeds them though...

Take it easy guys!

Edit: Made a Squidoo Lense for these birds, check it out here!

Project A: Episode 4 and 5; The End.

Been awhile since I posted a review of Project A, and since then two episodes have gone past. These episodes are a lot more technical than the previous ones and are much more Starcraft focused, so they might be less entertaining to people not as into Starcraft as I am. These ones are a lot more emotional and serious, and show just how hard Yellow is trying to get into Code A at the GSL. The results of his matches and how he does at the tournament are included in these episodes, so I cant go to far into detail without revealing the results. But if you have watched the previous episodes and need to know how this story will end for Yellow then you will just have to watch it to find out.

As always, Project A can be watched for free at GomTv

Project A: Episode 3 The Match

That time of the week again,  and another episode of Project A was broadcast and uploaded Gom Tv. This episode takes place after a month Yellow has started playing Starcraft 2 and features the results of the show match between Yellow and old rival Slayers_Boxer. I wont go too much into this episodes as not to spoil the results for those that haven't seen it. But features much of the quirky Asian style that Project A has been show cases for the past few episodes. With special guest three time GSL champ IM_Nestea showing up to coach Yellow for a while in preparation for his match.

Kinda hard to see, but a big crowd showed up to watch the match.

This episode show cases a bit more of what Yellows actual skill is like after getting into Starcraft 2, so is a bit more serious. Sadly not as much lost in translation funny sounding subtitles as the last few episodes.

Or was there?

As always, you can check out Project A for free at GomTv.net

For no reason, here is some Banelings.

Starcraft 2: Patch 1.4

Subject to change over PTR testing.
Full notes here
My thoughts on the major balance changes.

Terran:

Barracks build time increased by 5 seconds:
Ah personally I don't think this was needed, I imagine that it is there so bunker rush or two-racks builds are a bit weaker but they weren't really that much of a problem if you paid attention to them.

Hellion Infernal Pre-Igniter damage upgrade decreased from 10 to 5:
This seems reasonable, blue flame hellions while annoying in ZvT were bearable, but this really helps terrans more for TvT. Good change in my opinion.

Raven Seeker missile movement speed increased from 2.5 to 2.953:
Seeker missile previously was a bit of joke, had to be really careless to be hit by it. So good change that should make ravens more interesting. Personally though I think that seeker missile should be able to be launched from further away. Currently you risk your ravens every time you try to use the missile, but then again you can always point defense drone to keep them safe anyway.

Zerg:

Infestor Fungal Growth damage changed from 36 (+30% armored) to 30 (40 vs Armored):
As a zerg player I think this was needed, it might not change things too much, about 6 damage for both regular and armored. Infestor locking things in place is still very deadly though, ZvZ will probably still be Roach/Infestor. Real victim on this change is Destiny.

Overseer Morph cost decreased from 50/100 to 50/50.Contaminate energy cost increased from 75 to 125: Gas reduction is a good send for most zergs, always feels like you never have enough gas. The contaminate change seems unnecessary though. Contaminate isn't really used too much as it is.

Ultralisk Build time decreased from 70 to 55:
I like this a lot, feels like forever for these things to build. Hopefully will encourage more Ultralisk plays, but still think that Ultras need a change in either size or allowing small units to walk under them. They use up so much space right now.
Protoss:

Immortal Attack range increased from 5 to 6:
Good buff, immortals can get stuck behind stalkers a lot. Might encourage more 2 gate robo in PvP.

Warp Prism Shields increased from 40 to 100:
Warp prisms seemed like the easiest thing in the game to destroy, for transports I think this was a needed change. Might make it a bit hard for zerg is you rush for prisms and start warping in zealots in there base before they have anti air though.

Stalker Blink research time increased from 110 to 140.
Unsure if this was needed, will make Protoss FFE into six gate a bit weaker, and make it harder to not to go 4 gate or 2 gate robo in PvP.

Mothership Acceleration increased from 0.3 to 1.375:
Neat, would love to see more mothership usage, following the battercruiser speed buff we did see an increase in them for TvT. So seems like Blizzard is slowly buffing capital ships to get them more useage. Don't know if this will effect the meta game too much at this point. But cooler to see ship battles late game instead of just full gateway armies.

 Misc:

Unit vision up ramps has been reduced by 1:
I like this, having the high ground should give you an advantage. Would like to see more highground around the maps instead of just in your bases, a bit like the middle area in Tal'diram Altar.

Repeated control group and selection commands will no longer count as unique actions for APM calculation purposes:
Good, now maybe people wont feel like they have to spam 400apm at the beginning of a game just for stats, and we can actually see what peoples multitasking ability is in a replay.

Overall I think these changes arent too bad, a few seem unnecessary but I dont play every match up. Will be interesting to see how many of these make it off the test realm or what changes they will have.

Holiday at the Bay.

Just a short post about my holiday so far. When down the waterfront today and there was seal just sleeping on next to the footpath. Also had a blue penguin swimming around in the water near it. I like to think they were friends in a Disney animal buddy sort of way. Even if it was far more likely that the seal was taking a break from hunting in the penguin, and the penguin was just playing escape the seal.

Unfortunately I don't have a camera, but this is the type of seals we have around my city.

Early Halloween Ideas

In New Zealand we don't really celebrate Halloween, any kids going around the neighborhood are likely to spend hours with maybe a couple houses actually giving them candy. In fact I have only actually celebrated Halloween once, which was last year when my friends and I decided to actually have a Halloween party. So its a bit of treat for me and looking forward to it this year. But wondering what to go as, any suggestions? This is what I came up with last year, unfortunately we only seem to have small pumpkins where I live or I would have gone for the largest one they had.

Comment on any ideas you guys think would be cool to try out.

Project A: Episode 2

Following last weeks episode Project A: Part two continues the story of old Brood War pro Yellow on his journey to become a Starcraft Two pro and leading to his show-match with old rival Slayers_Boxer. In this episode he actually starts to play the game and learn how the game works, so its a bit more informative than the last. But no less amusing with its Asian wacky broadcast style and jokes lost in translation.
I knew it!

Also in this episode it shows you were he will be training and staying for the month long series. GomTV has step him up with a nice hotel room to himself, which all things he will need while he trains. This is actually incredibly lavish for a Korean Pro gamer, usually a large group will all stay in one room with computers all next to each other. Because of Yellows high profile though and the because this series is about him he gets to be a bit spoiled.
Although, nobody leaves. Hotel Prison.

Also in this episode he meets his two coaches, one of them being the OGS Coach. Both of his coaching having hid till they were ready to introduce them...

Two guys hiding in your bathroom? Its more likely than you think.

They also were kind enough to bring him some house warming gifts, a new computer to practice on and some umm..

Editors note: Project A isn't gay porn..
