Exciting Apil and Good ol'fashioned trip to the Zoo.

 Well April 1st in New Zealand, this month is going to be a potentially life changing one for me. Back in October you may remember that I mentioned I had graduated university, around this time I also applied to be on the JET Programme. Seems like so long ago I applied, applications closed in November, interviews were in February and now in April the news of who got in will come out, goes without saying fingers will be crossed all month, but hopefully it will be in the next week or two.

Also it was Girlfriends birthday last week, since she loves animals we decided to go to the Zoo. Unfortunately the Wellington Zoo isn't very large or impressive compared to some of the other Zoos I have been too. However Its rarely crowded which is a definite advantage. 

You even get to feed the Giraffes if you want to, Im not sure if other Zoos offer that although I imagine that in really popular ones it would be hard to find the time for everyone to do it. My Girlfriend and I even held some branches in our mouths (dared to by the Zoo Keepers) and they took it right out of mouths before licking our faces haha all good fun.

Rember not to get fooled by anyone this April 1st too =)

    Belated bday wishes to her. Birthday in zoo? Looks like you had all love and fun from the zoo. I dont know whether it is us or always animals purposely avoided us. My kid and I usually argue about Llama and Camel. Fun times.

    I was never an animal person. I want my morning on my birthday with kids and evening dinner and a movie far far far away from kids :)

    Lol, my sister got licked by a giraffe at the zoo when we were little. They have the weirdest tongues! She was not too happy about it, but I thought it was pretty cool (since I wasn't the one smothered in giraffe spit).

    Sounds like a fun day, never been to a zoo that I can recall, maybe a small one but nothing big or even medium sized.

    Yeah our local zoo does the same with the giraffes. They charge a pretty penny for the crappy lettuce you get to feed it

    Giraffes are lots of fun. In Kenya, I got to feed a giraffe some pellets given to me by the zookeeper. The giraffe's tongue felt very strange on my palm. I'm sure your girlfriend appreciated getting to the zoo.

    Not big on zoos in general, but I'd still love to feed the giraffes!! The closest thing here is the local farms where you can feed the sheep and goats and chickens and things. I spent a good chunk of last winter (or maybe 2 winters ago...) visiting Penning's Farm nearby to overfeed this one chicken before I purchased it to eat. :D
    Delicious.

    ....yeah that's why I probably shouldn't go to zoos.
