As far as things that come out of the sink, this was pretty tame and I was relieved after seeing what it was. This is a NZ Huhu Beetle, they live most of their lives inside trees as larvae and apparently the beetle form only lasts about 2 weeks in their lives.
I recorded some footage of it then placed it outside, if you're interested here is information on the Huhu here!
New Topic: Any of my followers HP Lovecraft fans? Im a big fan of his stories myself, and thinking about playing through Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth on my Youtube Channel. I would love to do a reading of a few stories (Like Cthulhu or The Shadow over Innsmouth) although I'm not sure about the copy right for uploading readings from books onto youtube atm, anyone know?

ReplyDeleteyou have noodles in the sink too :)
ReplyDeleteeww best go check my sink
ReplyDeleteThats quite the beetle to come out of a drain!
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry, I don't know if reading from a book on youtube is copyright infringment. (But you could check and see if the authors work is owned by others or is in the public domain!)
good to know wikipedia is back up. I would freak out if that came out of my sink
ReplyDeleteKILL IT, KILL IT WITH FIRE AND FURY.
ReplyDeleteOh and sorry no I don't know the rulings on doing readings.
Wow one big beetle, my cat would prob eat it..haha

ReplyDeleteI love bugs, I had never heard of the Huhu before, what a cute lil fella.
ReplyDeleteI love bugs. I do a lot of macro photography studies of insects and I'd really like to get a shot of one of these guys. I don't know anything about the copyright laws on book readings on Youtube though.
ReplyDeleteWe did you not eat it? They are so tasty. :P

ReplyDeleteAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
ReplyDeleteHa, love the title of the post. And that is pretty gross, considering what goes down the sink. Think of all the things it went through coming up that pipe.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! It's a full meal.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it wasn't a gruesome, eldritch horror that crawled out from your sink -- just a harmless beetle.
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you for saving that amazing beautiful beetles! I love beetles! They're silly and not very bright but they're gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteHave you found anything about your planned reading of Lovecroft stories? Yes, always check copyright! Good luck!
Take care

Dunno about the youtube reading thing, but youtube might have info about that on their rules and stuff.
And that bug is a total muffin, I'm glad you saved it. :)
Is that one of those Japanese beetles?
ReplyDeleteThat's a nasty-ass bug, haha!
ReplyDeleteAs for doing Youtube readings, I'm almost positive that you have nothing to worry about as far as copyright infringement is concerned. If you're still worried, find one of those fair use copypastas and stick it in the video description.
Following!
Think i sorted this out actually, apparently all of Lovecrafts works are in the public domain now fortunately!
